Death’s rich pageant—John Mark Karr confesses to killing JonBenet Ramsey, ten years after the case first became a tabloid staple. Of course, not everybody is buying the mea culpa. But at least The Enquirer has its cover for the week.
In office news, I interviewed another potential Intern yesterday. Spirited young fellow going by the handle Beakers, for reasons he did not go into in any depth. I suspect it may have something to do with pharmaceuticals, however—he recorded today’s song on the spot, insisting in a sort of frenzy that he had to “rock my face with a demo”, and then ran screaming out the door as soon as it was in the can.
If he ever comes screaming back in the door, I think I will keep him.

strangely perky no? a little upbeat for child murder i think. but i havent had my coffee yet so perhaps its just the perky and the upbeat that are really getting to me.
I would have made similar arguments to Beakers had he not thrust the guitar into my hands and departed immediately after recording. Perhaps he felt similarly conflicted.
There is a difficulty, of course—with so much unpleasant news lately, do we at The Times risk thematically clashing upbeatness, or resign ourselves to day after day of dirges?
A dilemma, truly.
Wow,
Beakers, if you can find him, might work out….You might try finding his partner Dr. Melon…I heard them years ago on stage at the Ellen theater in Bozeman, Montana…they kicked Butte or butt.
As far as the school teacher…well, I’ve been camping and have loads of laundry to do. I will try to stay tuned to the papers now that I am back from the campfire.
wow………………great catchy tune!
Butte lol
